SalaryIncreaseCalc publishes calculators and explainers about pay raises. This policy describes how the SalaryIncreaseCalc editorial team creates and maintains that content.
Standards
- Usefulness over filler. Every section should help someone compute, compare, or interpret a raise.
- Show the math. Formulas appear in plain language and match the interactive calculator. Example tables use the same formulas so published numbers cannot silently disagree with the tool.
- Label estimates. Tax and inflation outputs are described as estimates. We link to the methodology and disclaimer.
- Cite benchmarks. Average-raise or survey claims name the organization and year and link out when a public URL exists.
Byline and voice
Pages use the byline SalaryIncreaseCalc editorial team until named creator and reviewer profiles are published with consent. When profiles are live, attributed pages show “Created by” and “Reviewed by” lines that link to those profiles. We write in direct second person where instructions help (“enter your current pay”) and avoid hype adjectives that do not change the reader’s decision.
Creator-then-reviewer workflow
Drafting and review are separate roles. A creator prepares formulas, copy, and examples in their focus area. An independent reviewer checks the work before publication. Creators never review their own work. Mixed pages that span tax-payroll and compensation list both creator and reviewer pairs.
Updates and review cadence
Pages carry an “Updated” date. We refresh that stamp when we change formulas, defaults, citations, or substantive explanations. Attributed pages may also show a “Last reviewed” date when a reviewer pass is recorded. Routine typo fixes may not change the stamp; methodology or tax-model changes always do. Reviews run when material inputs change and on a scheduled editorial cadence.
Corrections
When a factual or mathematical error is confirmed, we fix the page promptly, update the stamp if the change is material, and note significant methodology shifts on the methodology page. The corrections page describes reporting steps and the changelog. Email info@salaryincreasecalc.com to report an issue (include the URL and what looks wrong).
Conflicts of interest
Calculators on this site are free to use. If we ever accept sponsorship or affiliate placement adjacent to a tool, we will disclose it on the page where it appears and keep editorial control over formulas and copy.
Methodology
Figures use the formulas on our methodology page (display values round to cents).
